The Bearded Irises has their name after the beards on the flowers lower petals.

Tall Bearded Irises becomes over 70 cm. in height.

Flowering

Dark burgundy and pale pink colour.

Clear yellow in the centre.

Yellow beards.

2005: New this year. No flowers.

2006: No flowers.

2007: No flowers.

2008: Flowered 3rd of June.

2009: Flowered 10th of June.

2010: No flowers.

2011: Flowered 12th of June.

Growth and care

'Indian Chief' grows to about 1 meter in height.

It should be re-planted every few years to maintain a good flowering.
