Beardless irises are a diverse group of plants, with many sub-groups.

Louisiana irises are native to southern USA, and can have difficulties to produce flowers in northern climate. Grows in and by water.

Flowering

Dark violet colour. Almost black.

A strong yellow stripe on each of the lower petals.

'Black Gamecock' grows to about 60 cm. in height.
