Origin
  • The historical roses are the roses belonging to groups who appeared before the year 1867.
  • This group has it's name after a rose of the 17. century. Called after the Isle of Portland. The original rose was a hybrid between 'Autumn Damask' and 'Officinalis'.
Flowering
  • Double flowers.
  • Crimson colour, with more purple in cold weather.
  • Re-flowering.
  • Strong sweet scent.
 
  • 2006: New this year. Flowered 29th of July.
  • 2007: Flowered 12th of June.
  • 2008: Flowered 5th of June.
  • 2009: Flowered 13th of June.
  • 2010: Died this winter. New plant bought, but no flowers.
  • 2011: Flowered 11th of June.

Growth and care
  • Scandinavian zone H-5.
  • Grows up to 1 meters in height.
  • The oldest branches should be removed every few years, to stimulate new growth.
