Origin |
- The
historical roses are the roses belonging to groups who appeared before
the year 1867.
- This group
has it's name after a rose of the 17. century. Called after the Isle of
Portland. The original rose was a hybrid between 'Autumn Damask' and 'Officinalis'.

- Double flowers.
- Crimson colour, with
more purple
in cold weather.
- Re-flowering.
- Strong sweet scent.

- 2009:
Flowered 13th of June.
- 2010: Died
this winter. New plant bought, but no flowers.

Growth and care |
- Scandinavian zone H-5.
- Grows up to
1 meters in height.
- The oldest branches should be
removed every few years, to stimulate new growth.
