Origin |
- The
modern roses are the roses belonging to groups who appeared after
the year 1867. The
"first" modern rose 'La France' was introduced this year.
- This group consists of hybrids
of Rosa rugosa.

- Semi double flowers.
- Clear red colour.
- Very good re-flowering.

- 2004: Flowered 27th of
June.
- 2005: Moved this year. Not
pleased with that. No flowers.
- 2006: Flowered 25th of
June.
- 2007:
Flowered 9th of June.
- 2008:
Flowered 11th of June.
- 2009:
Flowered 9th of June.
- 2010: Froze
down during winter. Flowered 15th of July.
- 2011:
Flowered 26th of June.

Growth and care |
- Scandinavian zone H-5/6.
- Up to 1,5 meters in
height.
- Many thorns.
- Cut the oldest branches
down to 20 - 30 cm. every few years. Weak branches is removed totally.
Besides this the plant need very little pruning.
